About this tool
MetaScrub is a tool that removes EXIF, GPS and other metadata from JPEG, PNG and WebP images. It runs entirely in your browser; your files are never uploaded. By using MetaScrub, you agree to these Terms. The core tool is provided free of charge and without an account.
Acceptable use
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process any image you use with the tool. Do not use MetaScrub to alter files you are not authorised to handle, to strip attribution where you are legally required to keep it, or in any way that violates applicable law.
Optional paid unlock
MetaScrub may offer an optional paid unlock (for example, removing ads and lifting the batch limit). Any payment is processed by a third-party hosted checkout provider (such as Stripe or Gumroad); MetaScrub does not collect or store your payment card details. Refunds are handled in line with that provider’s standard policy and your statutory rights — because the core functionality is permanently free, paid features are a non-essential upgrade.
Best-effort accuracy disclaimer
MetaScrub removes the metadata segments and chunks it recognises in supported formats. While it aims to remove all standard EXIF/GPS/IPTC/XMP and equivalent metadata, removal is provided on a best-effort basis. You are responsible for verifying a cleaned file before relying on it — the tool shows you the re-inspected result so you can confirm. See the Disclaimer for detail.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the tool is provided without any liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising out of or relating to your use of it. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory statutory consumer rights.
