Your images never leave your device

MetaScrub processes your images entirely in your web browser. When you add a photo, it is read, inspected and cleaned on your own device using the browser’s File API. The image bytes are never uploaded to any server — not ours, not anyone’s. You can verify this yourself by opening your browser’s network panel while you use the tool: no request carries your file.

We operate no backend and no database. We never receive, store, or log the contents of your files or the metadata they contain.

No ads, no third-party tracking

This site currently shows no advertising and uses no third-party tracking analytics. We use only Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track or fingerprint individuals. We set no non-essential cookies. All processing happens locally in your browser and your files are never uploaded.

Your GDPR rights

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we hold no account data and never receive your files, we do not hold personal data about you, so for most of these rights there is no corresponding data on our side.

Changes to this policy
